removing hal stops the constant disk acess but does not stop the spike in the
cpu only stopping dbus eliminates the cpu spike

Updated this weekend and thought everything was fixed till I rebooted. Now I
have no more cpu spikes. But I do have now constant cdrom/hardrive access but
that is fixed by sudo /etc/dbus-1/event.d/20hal stop . Which only leaves me
with a constant disk access ever 5 seconds and tracked it down t
I still have to use this everytime I login sudo /etc/dbus-1/event.d/20hal stop
but that dose not help with the xsessions-error log becoming several thousand
megs in size.
I installed all the recent updates even the one for cups but I'm still having
problems with both issues. And its not just lap
