i no longer have access to that Ubuntu system, I had to change
distribution for another project of mine as well as needing a KDE system
since gnome has no colour correction for us colourblind folk, besides
the point though.
I do know that the only extentions I had enabled other than the default

I didn't mark the status as incomplete...
The Ubuntu 24.04 installer software that generates the BUG report marked
it.
But it's possible that the system couldn't assign an error label because
it reported: The installer terminated for an unknown reason (due to an
unknown error).

Incomplete probably means they haven't found an answer to this kind of
bug (black screen after logging in to X11)

Understand what you say about the Dell display - but I see the same behavior
regardless of the screen I am using.
As for Wayland - get the same stuttering - that is why I believe it is related
to the intel i915 driver.
I get the same behavior on a completely different PC, different
motherboard,
