To my surprise, I am indeed using Desktop Icons NG (DING). I have no
idea when I installed it, or why. This Ubuntu installation is probably
five years old; I've only upgraded over the years. If I disable the
extension, all my Desktop icons disappear.
I tried o
dmesg shows you have two apps that has segfaulted gsd-power and gnome-
flashback.
Do you have crash files under /var/crash/?

Had to double check some of the apps that I foud earlyer that lacked
Guillemets, and I found that
- gedit (the old Gnome editor) as flatpak that previously lacked Guillemets now
has them
- gedit, org.gnome.gedit, 48.0, stable, flathub, system
- sticky as flatpak now has Guillmets
- Sticky Not
