That's not a realistic use-case for the vast majority.
Most people need a calculator once a day or every few days, and a
desktop calculator is not an applicat

Worth nothing, as a workaround I issued `dpkg -r --force-depends gnome-
shell-extension-desktop-icons' followed by 'apt-mark hold gnome-shell-
extension-desktop-icons` to be able to get rid of the extension. Once
done, logging out and back in will give you a clean desktop with no
icons.

Thank you, but I run VMs on top of ZFS, so I restored the Virtualbox
vdi file from the last snapshot and blocked futher updates. I'll wait
for the correction. If needed, I can easily try-out something, using
this time the VBox snapshots.

Thank you for taking the time to report this crash and helping to make
this software better. This particular crash has already been reported
and is a duplicate of bug #1857539, so is being marked as such.
There is nothing wrong with my keyboard layout. Typing sudo -s
without touching the keyboard for any additional input, gives those
password error messages, as explaned in the original report.
Like I said my system is working again due to snapshots, I will wait
for a new corrected update.
