A workaround for my gvim-based hang is to not have gvim open on the
sshfs when I suspend. I don't have that option with gsd-housekeeping, so
I basically have to unmount sshfs before suspend, which breaks
everything else (eg. open bash prompts). Using "sshfs -o reconnect"
works fine except for this.
More progress: gst-play-1.0 fails on Gnome Shell Wayland only (and not
in Weston) because of a mutter problem (or arguably the gstreamer-vaapi
plugin assuming that mutter should support it):

Marco, if you want to work on GNOME Shell theming, I'd suggest that you
talk with Florian about how he suggests Ubuntu handle this. Both Solus

Ubuntu bug 1685754 seems specific to gnome-terminal. The bug I reported
is for all gnome-session apps. Gnome-terminal can be made to work if a
umask is added to .bashrc. This is not the case for other gnome apps
like gedit. These bugs may be the same, but I don't know enough to be
able to make that

I'm happy to try any patches that need testing.
