I am unable to duplicate the drop shadow issue. I am attaching
screenshots with and without Wayland on Ubuntu GNOME 16.10 under
VirtualBox. I can see that the scrollbar is slightly off in Wayland.

Note however that GNOME Terminal is the only application which have the drop
