This isn't an Ubuntu issue. I had the same problem in Crunchbang. The problem
is somewhere in XFCE.

to fallback to the upstream behaviour if UOA is not installed. We have
no intention of shipping a seperate shotwell build.
Also adding a depend on UOA pulls in pretty much the entire unity-
control-center stack, so clearly that
I don't think we should apply the patches to the gnome3-team's PPAs
because they also cause regressions for certain programs like Eclipse,
or like Artur's case above.

Unless we change the way we start Unity8 (which I've yet to convince
people we should), we - tragically - can't pass an fd to unity on
startup.
What we *can* do is hand off an FD to logind, and have unity8 pull it
from there. Keeping that fd away from non-Unity processes

I'm using Fedora 20 with gnome 3 and stumbled on this bug. My scroll has
been going crazy since I restarted, and the only thing that fixed it was
unplugging and replugging the little USB wireless key. I have a
microsoft wireless mobile mouse 4000.

problem that the CPU usage column is reversed, too. I use Ubuntu 14.04
64 Bit and think this problem didn't exist in the last few versions of
