I have the read-only bug under a slightly different condition: Its not a
external USB-Stick but a remounted partition.
For security reasons I have an archive partition which is mounted read-
only at startup of the notebook. When I mount the partition afterwards
in readwrite-mode then nautilus tell

I've verified that the problem still exists in the latest
daily-live/current version.
I still have that version on a USB stick 'A'. In order to test the upstream
kernel, can I do the following:
o Download the kernel image DEB package onto USB stick 'B'
o Boot from stick 'A'

I didn't realise that an old 12.04 would work with a really new kernel. If
