Hi,
excelent! The amd64 seems to be working, I don't have the "drm" error
(see here). HOWEVER the rt2800 is still on (see below). As for the
freezing of keyboard and touchpad, I couldn't reproduce it voluntarily
in the past, and it didn't occur yet.

Well, I'd call it a perceived regression. ;-) What happened is that the
installer started to assume/guess that since you selected London as the
time zone location, you want that things like numbers, currency, date,
and time are displayed using the format conventions in Great Britain.[1]

I can confirm again that the ppa does not fix the issue that I reported.
i.e. even after installing the ppa and rebooting, the calendar entries
were still in English.

By selecting France for the regional formats, you get a French locale
all through, i.e. what the installer used to deliver before the change.
Possibly, in your case, that's what you want, also with respect to
date/time formats,

happens every time I log in to Ubuntu but also happens intermittently
whiled logged in.

I had the same problem in 12.10 and now in 13.04. I closed totem
I installed dconf-tools package, I opened the dconf-editor and pressed "Set to
default" for every value under /org/gnome/Totem/ -- now totem doesn't stop
after the 1st second.
