An update to my last comment; After killing the gnome-settings-daemon,
the custom shortcuts begin working *for the remainder of the session*.
Logging out or rebooting resets the behavior, until gnome-settings-

I would love to see a fix for this bug too. However making one that
still gives Unity complete control over the Super key and doesn't
accidentally open the dash on fast Super+other_key taps, does not
presently appear to be possible. But I'd like for someone to prove me
wrong...
Workaround: Run CCS
Here's another (better) workaround:
1. Write a script or figure out the command to do what you want the action to
be.
2. Run ccsm.
3. Enable the "Commands" plugin
4. In the Commands settings, fill in the command line you want and bind it to
key Super+P.
Now Unity will run your specified command

I am running Ubuntu 12.04 LTS -Release amd64(20120425) with a Nvidia Quadro NVS
295 graphic card. Xinerama is enabled with two identical monitors. RANDR
extension is missing on system.

activ. Instead of stopping VirtualBox I also would have been able to

Here's my output from the same, since I have this keyboard also, and am
having the same problem. Note that the volume down key is also mapped
incorrectly, and returns the code for "Refresh" instead of "VolumeDown".

I think that Totem within Firefox would be a lot more useful if it

AES-256 encrypted zip files are the only reason I use 7z from the
command line instead of File Roller. File roller should at least tell
you what encryption it is using. The original .zip encryption is a joke
by today's standards. I had to install 7z just to figure out what
encryption file-roller
Oops. $password should be $backup_pass in that example. I did test it
and it otherwise works as far as I can tell. Hope that helps.

It seems this is because Ubuntu patched
gnome-settings-daemon/gnome-control-center to use GConf for keybindings.
This causes all built-in shortcuts to not work at all, and the custom shortcuts
to misbehave when using the "Meta"-key.

This issue is still alive with ubuntu 10.04 and 11.04 for a Canon EOS 1000D
I just had to uninstall rhythmbox and gphoto2 works well now.

The crashdb.conf was ok , just wasn't happening. However with the new apport*
packages, (2.1.1-0ubuntu2), all seems fine again
So caused the crash & refiled. Will mark this invalid
