This issue is reproducible with Intel DX58SO motherboard. It occurs when
when open sites which contains Rich AJAX or flash player. eg Yahoo
Chess. This problem is prominent on Ubuntu Versions greater than 10.04.
I reported this bug Bug 986773 with apport but they also regarded it as
"Incomplete". Y
That's exactly the problem. It never seems to use the *same* instance. A
new instance is always created whether you use -n or not.

upgrade properly and I was left with oneirc totem that was broken. After
uninstalling all totem packages and reinstalling precise totem,

Captured debug output from gnome-settings-daemon at the point where my
icons go haywire, and whoopsie reports that a problem occurred.
I renamed the gnome-settings-daemon binary to gnome-settings-daemon.bin,
then put a shell script wrapper around it. Hence the reason that the log
reports gnome-set
Confirmed totem wasn't upgraded properly from oneiric and was broken.
Removing and reinstalling resolved issue.

At one point, it appeared that I was able to get my icons back by killing
gnome-settings-daemon. They would appear normal when it restarted. This does
not currently seem to be the case.
My GTK style and fonts are ok, however.

I have upgraded to Ubuntu 11.10 and now I cannot mount any external 80
GB HDD and USB drive. When I connect a drive, it is visible in Files
under devices heading but when I want to open it, I get an message
saying "Unable to mount HARD DISK. No authorisation". I tried to fin
sure, but there is not much to be seen on a screenshot. When I speak the
input level is not changing. I cannot use Skype and I am forced to use
Windows so that I can do my work. Any suggestion?
