(required components are fixed for a session).

I found a key in gconf-editor named
/desktop/gnome/peripherals/SynPS@47@2@32@Synaptics@32@TouchPad/off
wich is set in zero by default.
I have changed this key manualy to diferents values but, aparently, this don't
fix the problem.

Got the same issue on Ubuntu Natty. Instead of only black bars mine are
colorful. Sometimes it is impossible to read the text due to this problem.
Included is one of the PDF files.
All files produced by my teacher have these bars.
Information from the file:
Producer: Mac OS X 10.6.4 Quartz PDFCo
And the bars change color/move around when you rescale the window/go to
fullscreen.

I've also been able to hit this with openbox and xcompmgr or cairo-
compmgr, and only with gnome-panel. It may not be a gnome-panel bug, but
a common behavior in compositing managers that can be triggered by
gnome-panel.

my actual nautilus still have no miller-columns view.
i'm confused why nautilus still don't have the miller-column view mode
like Dolphin and Thunar have since long time.

been attached, and enough people (including myself) seem to seeing this.

The current behaviour violate the Gnome HIG
(http://library.gnome.org/devel/hig-book/2.32/input-mouse.html.en,
serach for 'zoom'). The relevant text is quoted here for convenience:

Thanks a lot for reporting this, however since this constitutes a
feature request, rather than a small design flaw, I am closing the paper
cut portion of this report. For reference, this could be considered a
paper cut if there was a clock displayed on the screen saver that had a
problem.
