I just updated my 10.04 LTS 64-bit laptop 30mins ago and now suddenly
am getting these errors from thunderbird, gedit etc. Removing ~/.dbus
and letting it regenerate at no effect. To summarize:
% ssh -X host gedit
generates a stream of GConf errors,
host% gedit
(that is run locally on hos

This is a bug, it is the result of (Ubuntu Dutch Translators) not
following the guidelines of this program in translating it. It also

Same thing here. After installing ubuntu 10.10 64-bit. Using a synaptic
touchpad, on a Lenovo X100e Thinkpad. Touchpad was working flawlessly on
10.04 32-bit. But now I can't enable horizontal scroll (yet vertical
scroll works fine). I've also noticed that the bottom area of the
touchpad is not sen
I also observe this on my up-to-date Maverick. Another way to make it update
again is to set the panel's position to a side of the screen instead of top,
and then put it back on top (putting it on the bottom doesn't fix it). I've
noticed other strange panel update problems, like zones that becom
10.10 still has the same issue :S

Oh, and an advice: rather than use Okular (which I have in the past),
try using texworks instead. It uses the same rendering engine as evince,
and lets you easily perform reverse-search.

I can confirm this bug for nibbles, swell foop, and lights off. (It's
also a duplicate of https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/gnome-

My log outputs are nearly identical to what other people listed. I also
have an Intel video card.

Someone has just reported some severe problems with installation of 10.10, and
it gets a priority of low?
And the response is "nyah, nyah, it's not gdm, I'm not listening"? How is the
user supposed to guess the right package, anyway?

As of today, the dictionary app. is working. dict.org must be back up and
working now. Thanks for the above work-around.
If I have any further problems I may have to try it as I use this app. on a
daily basis.

I have installed tracker-dbg and made a valgrind run of evolution.
Strangely, evolution does not always eat up all available memory. During
this run, it kept at around 4GB Virtual and 16% Real (making it 1.3GB of
real RAM on my 8GB machine.) Don't know if this has something to do with
valgrind.
