This is decidedly not a fix, just a workaround for others who come here
with the same issue. Provided ssh access is available to the VNC host in
question, ssh in (using the username of the session to be resumed).

Hmmm, seems this is some configuration error in my setup. When trying
this on a newly generated user, the issue is nonexistant. Not sure what
setting is causing this error in my old setup.

This isn't anything to do with gnome-utils either, it's a problem with
whatever handles the keypress and launches gnome-screenshot (this is
normally the window manager, so it needs reassigning to whatever window
manager you're using. Are you using desktop effects?).

if you switch this on/off in your session-properties, in case you want
to view the log file, with this XID-collision flooding, it may happen,
that the .old-file also get's quite big.

Also I would like to add that I reported this bug yesterday, but against
