I don't know if this is the problem the OP is facing, for me I went to
the settings for startup applications in the GNOME control panel and
checked the Empathy entry. Then I reboot. When the desktop comes up
again, empathy is started up, but the status is offline. I have to

I updated the kernel to 2.6.34-020634rc6-generic and the voila, the
function keys to change brightness works fine.
Issue with 5 being the least brightness is not yet resolved. Let me know if
there is any workaround.
When the system is on battery, the brightness reduced automatically to half (5)
Error comes apparently from the Neo2 keyboard layout, which causes gdm
to crash.

The command "gpg --list-secret-keys"
does show that the secret key was imported.
I went back and exported the public key from user A's login account.
After importing the public key into user B'S account the Key appeared
under 'My Personal keys'.
It seems that seahorse did not export the public ke
