It used to do this, but then not boot up all the way, and I'd have to
hard shut it off and start again a few times before it would boot all
the way. Since then I abandoned the dual boot with Windows 2000 that i
had on it, reinstalled the whole thing, and manually set my swap
partition to just a lit

Aha. This is a bogus bug. When attempting to debug bug 444300, I had
installed gthumb-2.10.11 in /usr/local. I've now deleted everything
under /usr/local, and don't see the hang that this bug refers to; now I
see bug 444300 manifesting instead.

I have the same problem in lucid version of Ubuntu. I have mounted samba
shares and after resume from hibernation to disk, I cannot run Nautilus.
If I try hibernation and resume without delay, it works ok, but if the

_default_ setting to show offline users by default? I vigorously NACK
this for SRU. In all the Ubuntu releases so far, only online contacts
were shown (which makes a lot of sense, too, otherwise it becomes
utterly hard to find
