When i change the visual effects to "normal" or "extra"on appearance

configured and because of that the desktop doesn't work good at the
beginning until i change it again.

Just downloaded the latest updates last night via update manager which
included an Evolution update, this seems to have fixed the problem. So
everything working fine now, CUP for that particular process back down

Hi back again, I did some further tests about the missing notifications.
Ken VanDine, I've tested the problem you were reporting using a vanilla
version of empathy git (without my patches). It's a normal behavior of
empathy: the missing notifications will appear as soon as you click on

position of the buttons is not a massive issue, but I am probably not
anything like the average user - I'm more in the "power user" bracket.

I am the person that opened this bug. My main systems are Ubuntu 9.10
and this is still a problem. BUT, I have installed 10.04 in a guest
virtualbox machine and can, indeed, confirm that the Weather Report
applet is now working correctly the way it use to. I am looking forward
to the final 10.04 re
The patch seems good, and it is currently working to fix screenlets in
Ubuntu. Any reason why this has not been merged upstream yet?

Btw,I should clarify. I don't think it's an outrage that Canonical threw
the buttons over to the left in this beta. On the contrary, I think it
was a great experiment. So an alpha/beta is the place to do it.

When support for LTS will expire in 2015, I assume there will be GNOME
5.0 which might be shipped without buttons at all, that's why it is
better for you to start (sooner the better) to learn things used to do
step by step.

Would data collected in Windows be considered useful? Since we're using
this to make a UI design change the current UI shouldn't affect it
right? What matters, presumably is how we interact with documents that
will look mostly the same on any operating system. I will try to coll
the terminal freezes and no other inputs on the terminal screen can be
made.
