Following the link in #7, I ran gconf-editor and deleted the theme key

BTW - It happens both when MP3 or OGG is selected in Jamendo Plugin settings.
I experienced no problems with downloading into Rhythmbox a list of songs for a
given keyword.

I'm not confident enough to propose elaborate solutions to these
problems, especially at the technical end of things. I do agree that
Rhythmbox isn't the problem here, although one of the simplest solutions
would be to make it simple to enable "special character stripping". The
problem is in the NT
I can confirm that the latest update installed a fix. It installed
version 2.29.91-1ubuntu2.

When I try to add an object to my Gnome Panel from the "Add to Panel"
dialog, I cannot choose GNOME_FastUserSwitchApplet. This means that if I
ever remove GNOME_FastUserSwitchApplet from the panel, I cannot add it
back.
