Karmic, when booting with AC connected followed by disconnecting AC,
there is no "On Battery" tab in Power Manager.
This is very annoying, because by default Karmic dims the laptop screen
to a level I can only describe as barely-readable after a few seconds,

It is about the same. I imported a cd to the library using .wav and it
was a little slow but OK. I then tried the Led Zepilin III cd and just
got slower and slower. It has run for over 2.5 hours and is at "6 out
of 10 (0%)". The UI is very very slow to respond. The playback does

Install nautilus-sendto? Really though, nautilus doesn't implement 'send

Setting the GNOME bug for GPM to BGO #604362, because that one has a
patch which solves this issue. The same patch is in the debdiff from LP
#492649.
Chris Choulson has mentioned that he'll look into including the patch
into g-p-m 2.29.x. After that we can look into pushing it into Karmic as

Thank you for bringing this bug to our attention. However, a paper cut
should be a small usability issue , in the default Ubuntu 9.10 install ,
that affects many people and is quick and easy to fix. So this bug can't
be addressed as part of the project.
