I found a workaround: if I switch on Visual Effects (i.e. Compiz) then
the problem goes away. If I set Visual Effects to None then the problem
returns. I switched back and forth several times to verify.

Totem hangs when playing of AAC fil
In 9.04 I had the problem with my proxy and the applets not connecting
through it, the fix was easy. System -> Preferences -> Network Proxy
then add the proxy settings in manual proxy configuration, but selected
Automatic proxy configuration. It seemed as if the Applets only checked
the Manual Prox
Another remark: If I kill gnome-settings-daemon the problem goes away as
told above, but as soon as I restart gnome-settings-daemon, the problem
comes back immediately, without needing to close the lid another time.
Seems that closing the lid puts the GPU into some bad state which gnome-

account, and since you've hardcoded DEFAULT_MIN_UID=1000 in the binary

I am on a new, clean installed Karmic, and it drives me nuts..
After a while (hours) files seem to disappear, for a short while opening the
'places-home-video' folder shows them all as normal, but some time (hours)

Videocard Intel X3100 (G33) integrated. Direct Rendering Yes. With and

01-I-don-t-know-why-I-had-x_step-2-here-maybe-to-avoid-.patch to series,
but doesn't actually contain that patch. Please fix and reupload (same
version number).

I can confirm this bug as well. I've tried in different machines, all
with nvidia proprietary drivers, and all after upgrade - totem's hue bar
goes all way to the left.

@p4man: I have a 120GB Maxtor (6Y120L0). Reallocated Sector Count
Threshold = 63, Value = 191 sectors, so palimpsest gives me the "Disk
has many bad sectors warning" each time I log in.
So I ran the manufacturer's diagnostic tool "SeaTools for Windows" in
Long DST mode which reads each sector, and
