@p4man: I have a 120GB Maxtor (6Y120L0). Reallocated Sector Count
Threshold = 63, Value = 191 sectors, so palimpsest gives me the "Disk
has many bad sectors warning" each time I log in.

So I ran the manufacturer's diagnostic tool "SeaTools for Windows" in
Long DST mode which reads each sector, and no problems were found.

The SeaTools SMART check also passes.

So even when a reasonable number of reallocated sectors are found by
palimpsest (191 sectors) it still seems to be giving false positives.
