Version 2.28.1 says "File Roller: An archive manager for GNOME." Is
that the version you have there? It doesn't look that much confusing to
me, but maybe it's just because I'm used to it: nautilus reads "File
Browser" on title, evince reads "Document Viewer"... I think this is

I actually reinstalled (keeping my home-dir) and moved ~/.gconf out of
the way, still seeing this behaviour. If I missed a config folder, where

I just upgraded to Karmic hoping for improvement, but it got worse. The AA used
to be bad, now there is none. If you look carefully at the okular vs evince
image you'll see some grey pixels in the evince rendered text. This is how it

I have a similar problem with Epiphany in Karmic's Release Candidate.
When I click on any pdf, doc, etc file, it says that the file type is
not recognized and presents only "saving" or "downloading" as options. I
think it is a very annoying problem, and should be moved up in priority.

I am still seeing this bug with RC and updated packages.
After login, the notification area shows wrong icons.
In the attached screenshot (after-login.png), for instance, the power
management icon is displayed twice while the NetworkManager icon is not shown
at all.

Jan, as I tried to point out in comment 26, if Nautilus is *not* in file
browser mode, the "option 1" you reference is not available. See
attached screenshot. Given the window in that screenshot, I can *only*
drag a file to a subfolder of 'mp3', but not to 'mp3' itself. :(

With "compiz" I assume you are referring to the settings for desktop
effects.
Using fglrx, the system works fine both with and without desktop effects.
Using radeon, the desktop effects are off in the stock install, and can not be
enabled.
