When I am sending a link in Evolution it is not clickable unless I do something
immediately after the link; add a space or enter.
People receiving these are complaining as they are not use to cut and pasting
the links into a browser

It's claimed here that the bug is in evince, but I don't actually see
the evidence. The "bad" PDFs produced by evince display render perfectly
in evince, xpdf, and gs; the output of pstopdf on those files also
renders perfectly in evince and gs. It's just the printer that is
complaining.

I also encountered this problem, printing an email from evolution to a
networked printer running intrepid. On the cups server I get the following

I’m guessing this is related to gdm since "startx" works but normal
booting does not.
When disabling xplash in /etc/gdm/Init/Default i get:
black screen --> login screen background --> black screen --> restart
When also adding automatic login in /etc/gdm/gdm.schemas i get:

Tried to get some more messages by adding a "while(true); do sleep 0.1;
sync; done;" to the /etc/gdm/PreSession/Default and got:

maxadamo , I don't think it's an X server issue.
In recovery mode, I run:
xinit /usr/bin/xterm -e watch -n1 cat /proc/acpi/video/IGD/LCD/brightness
It runs just fine, and I can play with the brightness without a problem.
