Very odd that in karmic it seems to work. Maybe it is something specific
to my setup, but I cannot imagine that, because 'everything' except RB

updated the system after the install and have been testing a few things.
According to the Appearance menu, the Visual Effects are set as Normal.

the remote locations are not supposed to have a trash directory and
never did but you should get a dialog saying you that when trying to
delete something and asking if you really want to do the action or not

This is not true. Very old version of Gnome (my memories date back to
2003) had a directory on remote shares, then they dropped it, and now
they took it back, but with metadata to allow Nautilus to restore items
to their original place. Try yourself to delete something on a network
share (with Karm
bug #435968 seems a frequent issue in dvd playing too and could be a
libdvdnav bug
