This bug is not a duplicate! Bug #447049 is on "not being able to choose the user with the keyboard" which is a completely different issue (that is solved by now). Also bug #447615 is on a different issue "Karmic Login Screen displays username by default" - this is a different concern with respect to the visibility of user names.
This bug report actually suggests the following enhancement request: If and only if there is only one (single) user on the system, then automatically select this user in gdm (equal to select the user AND hitting enter) such that the password of the single user can be entered immediately without hitting enter before. Current behavior on a single user systems (in gdm): a. Hit enter b. Enter password c. Hit enter again Requested behavior on single user systems: b. Enter password c. Hit enter This bug could be a candidate for "100 paper cuts" -- Karmic Login (single user) requires "Enter" input before password. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/446783 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Desktop Bugs, which is subscribed to gdm in ubuntu (via bug 447049). -- desktop-bugs mailing list desktop-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/desktop-bugs
