Nope. I'm using a plain Lenovo ThinkPad T500, but I had this problem too
on my old ThinkCentre. As a matter of fact I'm baffled by the fact that
I seem to be the only one in the world (still) experiencing this. I
don't have odd settings, I haven't hacked Ubuntu or installed any weird

off compiz to use it - that, too, needs to be fixed, since you can't
reasonably expect people to switch off compositing when the very
graphics primitives that make compositing possible would also be of use
in scaling pixmaps...

Hi all. I have been using Ubuntu 8.10 for some time now and did not
notice this bug initially using Ubuntu. I noticed it when using Linux
Mint 6, based on U8.10, as it was fairly obvious and annoying as the

i am not sure if it is a bad problem. yes i can repurduce it by just letting
the pointer just go across the open window or just going up to the close button
like if you were going to close or resize the window. as far as screen shot i

I have the exact same issue (jaunty alpha 5) fully patched as of 6 Mar 2009.
I have an ATI Radeon HD2600 PCI-E X 16
This issue has been around since I updated to jaunty. No worries because I
expected as much from alpha :)

It happens when the files in the trash doesn't have write permission for
the current user. It is strange though, because trash panel applet will
let empty the trash even if Nautilus would not.

There are some updates here. I found that this freezing is for gnome
panel only (or what's name of panel where clock, indication, keyboard
layout ... are). Firefox menu,for example, doesn't freeze. And when this
problem is appeared I cannot move any windows.

I am using evolution version 2.24.3 in Ubuntu.
I switched from SUSE 11.1 to UBUNTU 8.10/64 Bit
I left the /home/myname directory untouched.
After adjusting theownership of the ~/.evolution directoy to myname.myname all

On UBuntu 9.04 Jaunty Jackalope, alpha5, Epiphany raises an error,
saying it couldn't find the file /usr/share/ubuntu-
artwork/home/locales/index-%l.html
This doesn't work because it should be/usr/share/ubuntu-
artwork/home/locales/index
A workaround for Compiz users is to add Rythmbox to the Fullscreen
option of the Window Rules plugin.
Make sure to do it on a DIFFERENT workspace, though.
