OS = Ubuntu 8.10 fully up-to-date Totem = 2.24.3 Problem = If I select Movie → 'Watch TV on DBV adapter 0' I get the error message 'Totem cannot play this type of media...' When I click on 'More information about media plugins' I am taken to a web page (http://projects.gnome.org/totem/#codecs) which tells me I need gst- plugins-bad and Fluendo's MPEG demuxer. On this page is a hyperlink marked 'You can install them the same way as you would install totem' This link is a circular link which takes you back to : http://projects.gnome.org/totem/#download. Doing a web search on 'install gst-plugins-bad' and 'how to install gst- plugins-bad' didn't produce any useful information.
