Tried with radeon / radeonhd drivers, with an integrated Radeon 1250
card, and both crash.

My Canon SD500 takes short video clips which are saved as avi files. The older
version of f-spot on Ubuntu 8.04 imported these along with the jpg files.
The new version (0.5.0.3) on Ubuntu 8.10 does not import the avi files.

That can not be (or should not be) the source of the problem. Because I know
that the problem did not happen for other applications and web mail
interface. The problem is intermitent so I think you just lucky for a moment
there. I gave up Evolution and went to ThunderBird and web mail.

I can confirm this bug. However, I get it for MP3 files.
I have exactly the same problem as the original poster, with the tracks
shown like this:

3. Track 4
4. Track 5
5. Track 6 etc.
Please can this bug report be reopened and the issues worked on.

"normal users" learn the alphabetical order at 6 y/o when they go to school,
it's not that hard to understand...
"normal users" would certainly use such an option, just like they use other
much less useful options for them,
