current stable 1.0.18a version did not do the trick).

I just bumped this kind of problem with a certain ftp server myself.
Nautilus won't connect to the site and shows "Sorry, could not display
all the contents of "/ on $myserver": Could not connect to host"
I can connect to the server with command line FTP as well as with
Filezilla.

if i type "sudo aptitude remove shared-mime-info", i get "The following
packages are BROKEN: eog libgnomevfs2-common nautilus" and then it asks
permission to remove about 1 million packages, including nautilus,
firefox-3.0, eog, totem, etc

i got update and upgrade installed today on 8.10 can't reproduce the
error anymore, sorry. works fine now, besides the fact that my printer
tells me that it is not the right paper, although i proofed everything
:-( - whatever, preview works nicely and printer starts now.

sorry, same for 8.04 on this pc. i did update and upgrade. same as
above, although it is also a different (elder) version of f-spot (the
other f-spot version i use with 8.10 is 0.5.0.3, btw). but, same as

@Pedro : I didn't remove it.
Just force the status from "fix commited" to "fix released" for upstream as
they seem to be a bug in auto updating it (it was still mark has being "new"
even if the real status is "Status:RESOLVED" upstream).

This patch has been already discussed by GNOME developers in their bug
tracking system and it is still not appropriate. It is a very good
workaround at the mean time, but not good enough to be applied on
upstream project so this bug will stay open until GNOME developers (or
anyone else) make a comp
