1. Fix the repeat delay problem for the left, down & end keys.

I'm experiencing the same problem, only running dpkg --configure -a
doesn't solve the problem:

the screen to flicker ( brightness is adjusted afterwards though ).

I have the same problem in OOo 3.0 on Ubuntu 8.10. The files rw or read-only.
Here's a workaround to get read access though:
Gvfs has its own folder in the home folder called .gvfs where you can access

I observe the same problem, also Ubuntu 8.10 with 2.24.1-0ubuntu1 with
visual effects disabled. The simplest way I can recreate this behaviour
is:
$ echo 'showpage' > test.ps
$ evince test.ps &
$ touch test.ps
As mentioned above, after the last command the evince window comes to
the foreground b
on hardy I added the following to /etc/rc.local, which did the trick.
Replace with your user name. Be warned it's possible it might
delete some settings that you like so take a copy of .nautilus first!
find ~/.nautilus -type f ! -name
'file:%2F%2F%2Fhome%2F%2FDesktop.xml' | xargs rm

I didn't experience this bug on a Asus Z53S / F3S for a while, tough
suspend/resume was working like a charme. As resume is broken completely
in Intrepid with 2.6.27-7 since my latest upgrades, this doesn't matter
that much at the moment ...
