I'm having the same problem. I have 2 8.10 systems. One I can use 'ssh -YC
gnome-terminal' the other fails with:

Update: Found the source of the crash.
This crash occurs when f-spot tries to read the key
"/apps/f-spot/screensaver/tag_id" from gconf and the key does not exist.

I did run into the same problem trying to create a search folder. For a
specific IMAP account it insists to use "mbox:..." notation instead of
the "imap:[EMAIL PROTECTED]/folder". However, on for a different account with a
different provider the correct notation is used. I can't see the

I can replicate this on Intrepid. It looks like the problem is a
conflict between gpg-agent and seahorse, when the "gnupg-agent" package
is installed, it installs the /etc/X11/Xsession.d/90gpg-agent mentioned
in the comments, which breaks seahorse. Remove gnupg-agent fixes the
issue.

I, too, am disappointed that this bug has not been fixed in over 1.5 years.
I encountered it in mid-April of 2007, right after upgrading to Ubuntu 7.04.
I also have the "offending" Rage 128, as I'm sure many hundreds do. This
bug was not present prior to the 7.04 upgrade, so I would think it
I had the same symptoms as Franck, and resetting the library location
fixed it for me as well.
Problem only appeared after upgrading to Intrepid from Hardy.

- All wine windows run "on top" of the Ubuntu windows, making it

I'm going to vote for gpm being an issue too. I've given up on this
getting fixed properly soon, and went back to 8.04. I don't have any
issues with input and the OSD for the screen brightness works fine.
