Hello,
I don't think it's a good idea to replace this text field by one, because it
removes the possibility to print several ranges at once, separated by commas.
Example:
1-3,87-88 will print pages 1,2,3 and 87,88
That's a feature I actually use a _lot_.
What we need here is a descriptive textbo
I agree with Ronan, the range field should not be replaced with two
fields.
About the description: you get an example of how to fill the field if
you hover the "Range" text. It would be nice if the description also
showed when hovering the field.

The example with the volume control is indeed not valid any more. This
is because the volume control is not auto closing any more (it keeps
open until explicitly closed).
However, this bug can still be reproduced using any pulldown menu. I'll
rewrite the description accordingly.

opening bugs for that is not really useful, the ubuntu team is aware of
those issues but splitting documentations this way is not ideal, it
creates divergence over debian, requires to manually add those depends
to language packs, create extra index entries in the package database
and wouldn't scale
Re-opening again since I think you patched control, not control.in (I
would also patch README.Debian for completeness, see the patch I
proposed to Debian).

I think it has a lot to do with pulse audio (it is not production
ready), I had the same problem on fedora. I uninstalled pulse audio and
installed a load of alsa libraries (cant remember which ones).

those bugs are usually due to local installations hijacking the
distribution binary, can you use which on the binary and copy the log to
a comment?

OK, further poking found that this was due to something causing the
'what to do if suspend is pressed' option in the power manager to be set
to 'do nothing'. I don't know if I did this, or the upgrade did, so I'll
mark as invalid.

I've added an event in Evolution Calendar for Sunday, 2008-10-19 at
13:30 but the calendar applet shows the time as 14:30. Although it is a
repeated event this only happens for this specific date. So eg
2008-10-12 is fine.
