helped me get the MP3 and AAC profiles to work (Thank you very much).
A note about the "active" field; to change the active status of a
profile I have to modify it, then restart sound juicer for the change to

This bug still appears on my system, using Ubuntu Hardy Heron in
combination with a ATI x1250 onboard GPU and the ATI restricted driver.
(Offtopic: I could not test the ATI/Envyng solution, as there I am hurt
by some kind of 'blank screen bug' in combination with compiz...)
