I got this crash during gnome loading. I see users are seeing this when opening
an appearance app (sreensavers, anything that gnome appearance settings is in
control of).
Excentrik, they should be marked as dupes (this bug and bug #254671, they both
are same upstream bug. , but im not real sure
after restarting GDM it works, restarted using /etc/init.d/gdm restart.

into the users home directory probably should not be done. Perhaps
extending Nautilus to read something like /usr/share/templates and then
manage that directory closely so it doesn't become a mess for the

I had overlooked this.
I'm curious, as I installed standard 8.04 (although it was an update to
7.10) and i don't know how the "-3g" was lost at some point ???
On the other hand, I got 3 machines with Ubuntu, and maybe I'm just
confused.

Ubuntu ships GNOME 2.23 that will in time become GNOME 2.24, so why not
GIMP 2.5.x that will in time become GIMP 2.6?
And if the Ubuntu team can't even do that, a bug-fix update for 2.4 line
is available: 2.4.7.

I can't still mount my Windows shares with any of the methods.
Nautilus reports the "Mountpoint Already registered" thing. The Places
menu has the same error than nautilus. And gvfs-mount (which wasn't
installed by default) says this:

I think there's more than one issue here.
The ConsoleKit interaction problem is an error in the default
/etc/dbus-1/system.d/ConsoleKit.conf since ConsoleKit 0.2.10 (see

for fix).
However I fin
...and it appears that the latter bug is a compiz problem. When I
switch window managers to metacity the screensaver works fine.
In any case, this is not a bug in gnome-screensaver.
