so unfortunate that whoever's bug it is, it seems it ONLY affects
rhythmbox. Audacious works fine with ALSA, as does mpg321, mplayer,
xine, totem and mpd; sorry, I have no other sound-players to test.

and then post the log here after it's failed and you've rebooted? (Be

I have the same problem.
"When I opened Rhythmbox to play a file, it appeared as though the file

I just noticed this pattern, if you are on say, desktop 2 and you have a
pidgin window open, then you minimize that window and go to another desktop
and choose that window from the tasklist, it doesn't take you back to
desktop 2 and "Un-minimize" that window, which was the old behavior in guts
I checked it out and it's no longer a problem. I'm using Hardy latest
version and I'm completely up to date.

on player start. It's very lazy to start playback manually every time.
