With the latest evolution-data-server 2.22.2-0ubuntu2 I get a similar
behaviour as described above.
To debug it I did the following:
1. evolution --force-shutdown
2. GROUPWISE_DEBUG=1 /usr/lib/evolution/evolution-data-server-2.22

This is fixed in intrepid by the way, but I stillt have the problem on
my notebook with hardy.
There are also other issues like async playback and occasional crashes.
Maybe the gestreamer plugins should be updated in hardy.

dad's laptop on last weekend. My add's laptop also has only one drive which is
DVD reader + CD Writer.
The thing that both machine have in common is they were upgraded form gutsy to

Same problem for me (I wanted to report, then I find it was already reported),
it happens especially when evince is in fullscreen I think.
Compiz enabled too.
Resizing the window (unmaximizing) «resolve» the problem.
It's very annoying.

When evince opens in fullscreen, it automatically switch to «not
fullscreen» and resized itself. It's very disturbing because it stays
about 1s in fullscreen, then unfullscreen to have a very small window,
and the user have to re-maximise it.
