The same thing happen to me and the way I resolved it was to create a
temporary folder and move all items from the inbox to the temporary
folder and then back to the inbox. This has fixed the problem for me.

I guess I should have mentioned the other reason I didn't use the binary
posted earlier- I'm running 64-bit Ubuntu.
I need to compile it on another machine, so I will try to better

Hello,
The solution you posted works, temporairly only. For some reason for
me the box gets checked on its own. This is on 2 computers, one
upgraded to Hardy, the other a fresh install of Hardy.

Could everybody experiencing this bug please try the package of
libasound2, and if you use libasound2-plugins, the package of
libasound2-plugins from intrepid, and reply stating whether the issue
