I am running Gutsy so 2.20.0 is current, Hardy does have 2.22.1 as shown
here: http://packages.ubuntu.com/hardy/libeel2-2
Sorry, I'm out of my depth here, try checking that your nautilus and
libeel2-2 have similar versions? On my system: libeel2-2 is
2.20.0-0ubuntu1 and nautilus is 1:2.20.0-0ubunt
yep, I understood. even with totem-xine. it still takes too long when
creating thumbnail, which is not created anyway and is replaced by a
stock icon.

libeel2-2 is 2.22.1-0ubuntu1 and nautilus is 1:2.22.2-0ubuntu6. The
numbers don't match, but packages.ubuntu.com says both are current and
compatible.
That's all right, it's not urgent. My desktop is functional.

** Description changed:
- Hello,
I can confirm that the screensaver seems to be working now, at least
with it set to a blank screen. I haven't been brave enough to set it to
a different screensaver since "blank screen" does the job and probably
saves a little power anyway.

[hardy] screensaver fails to start and screen fails
This is not my experience, but I have removed totem-gstreamer after
having totem-xine installed. Maybe you need to do the same?
