Wanted to add that this is a serious bug (think it's the same, correct
me if not) if you want to use a small windowmanager like icewm, cause
there is no gnome-display-properties. So you have to run xrandr manually
to fix this - not everyone knows this, not every windowmanager likes it.

Impossible to correctly use Samba
I just upgraded to Ubuntu 8.04 Hardy Heron. I have the evolution-data-
server-2.22 process that is eating max CPU. I don't use Evolution, never
started it, and don't plan to. I have been able to kill the process from
the system monitor.
For you info I'm not on a dual core CPU. My laptop (Sony Vaio
that's an xgl server bug, that's why the GNOME bug upstream and the
launchpad GNOME task are closed

gnome-vfs-obexftp is not needed anymore. Browsing is handled by gvfs. So
please remove gnome-vfs-obexftp.
Also make sure you have packages bluez-gnome and obex-data-server
installed. After this reboot your machine, login again and see if you
can do file browsing & transfers.

I am not clear if this was tried by the bug reporter. Maybe this can fix your
issue.
open gconf-editor
(at+F2 : gconf-editor for example)
browse to apps->panel->toplevel, select your panel and set the autohide size to
3 or lesser, depending on what you want.
I use "0" and have no visual feedback
that's fixed upstream now, thanks you.

changing the priority of hal in rc2.d from 24 to 13 seems to fix the
problem for me.
by the way, my upgrade history is feisty -> gutsy -> hardy.

2) go to e-mail, unhide the preview pane w/ Ctrl-M
3) open terminal, type xkill, press enter
4) open evolution

That's excellent news. Thanks Seb (and whoever fixed it).
How do I go about getting the update? I've done an update of Hardy (via
Update Manager), and didn't get any updates to ltspfs or glib. Do I need
to wait for it to be published as a Ubuntu Update, or am I not doing
something write.

I had the same problems upon resuming from suspend on my Acer Aspire
9303 laptop ( White screen and mouse pointer. Typing my password worked
) I noticed it only happened when Compiz was enabled, which I neede
* Move the Detect Displays button to the top right of the window, right of the
Clone Screens checkbox.
* Look for and remove excess padding
* Shrink the vertical height of the graphical layout section
That should be sufficient.

Following an upgrade from Dapper to Hardy I get a white screen when
switching users. Turning off visual effects seems to have provided a
cure, but not a satisfactory one

transferring data. The site does never render anything, but keeps
transferring data.
