This is an installation, on ReiserFS over LVM:
/dev/mapper/primary_vg-home on /home type reiserfs (rw,relatime)

I can also reproduce this bug in Ubuntu 8.04 (hardy), with metactity and
composingt turned on. compiz does not have this problem

Corrected status and package assignments: The problem described here is
that Ghostscript gets fed with broken PostScript and this leads
Ghostscript to exit with an error. The broken PostScript comes from
evince or whatever library generates PostScript for evince. The library
is supplied by the gtk+
