Here is the glade file that implements the shrinkages. To test, place
in /usr/share/gnome-control-center/glade/ and restart gnome-display-
properties.
Like I said, this won't fix underlying font size issues (a separate bug)
but should now give a lot more margin for fitting into 640x480.

original images used as a thumbnail do show a frame.
