Not sure why is it Gthumb but I can confirm this on Nautilus,
Here is the scenario:
When I open a folder with images (around 60, large i.e. wallpaper
sizes), and change the zoom level to 200%. It resizes the thumbnail
image, so obviously it becomes blurry. Note this process is completed
quickly.

so g-p-m should go down to suspend (using hal) without quirks and
therefore just like "pm-suspend" without any arguments. However, it
shows a scrambled VESA-buffer-window just as I get it when using "pm-

Even today, having updated all packages and rebooted, the problem
remains. I can't get Fn+Home/End to alter the brightness in any

I know for sure, that kde-power-manager uses HAL for suspending (not
sure with gnome-p-m, but it should use it afaik).
There is also a "/var/log/pm-suspend.log" that might be interesting to
look at; especially if there is any difference when you suspend using
pm-suspend or [k|g]-p-m.

least I have never experienced any problems with the brightness applet.
The problem for me has always been, and continues to be, the hotkeys (I
am not running any of the patches, I'm still on Gutsy).

No, I did it via GDM's options.
But you are right, now that I changed the default language in the
language selector, GDM is in english as well.
I'm pretty sure this used to work in Gutsy, though. So the bug is rather
with GDM not changing this properly.

I know this has all been rehashed, but I think trying to add location /
TZ data for each location entry is not going to work because the system
doesn't select a location entry with the proper timezone in the first
place.

I've been using Hardy Heron Alpha 6 for the past couple of days. I
noticed that the Clock Applet that's in alpha 6 has some empty space on
the left - roughly 10 to 15 pixels. I tried to see if there was any
preference that could possibly resize the applet
I changed the changed the default language in the language selector to
french now and GDM is french. Then I changed the default language in GDM
to english and it's still set to french in the language selector.
The whole system is in english but after a reboot GDM is still french.

I did attach the backtrace. But I have forced close the program for to end the
backtrace. It hangs the program it all.
