There should be an option in preferences to specify a preferred startup

I think the behavior of taking 6% as 6/100 is correct to keep things
simple, when you do not give a % of something, it is interpreted as % of

So I've worked around the issue in Gramps, but the fundamental problem
remains.
I'd appreciate it if someone who understands Gnome would figure out

I have been running Gutsy's evolution for about 3 weeks, and have not
seen this problem anymore. It used to happen at least daily on dapper.
This is the same machine and email that had the problems before.
Upgraded to from dapper, to edgy, to feisty to gutsy. Now it works
fine. I'll report back

rather simple to fix using g_object_weak_ref API, but I don't have time.

Yes, the value of http/command is "firefox %s", as expected.
I typed firefox -remote http://www.chiark.greenend.org.uk/ and it said
Error: Failed to send command: 500 command not parseable
