After a hint on IRC I tried changing graphics drivers.
It would seem that the bug disappears if I load the restricted graphics
drivers for my NVIDIA G70 [GeForce Go 7600].
So, the bug appears with the un-restricted driver and not with the

Look at YouTube videos. When the video begins loading, the seek bar has

Is the fix released? As of today, Friday, Sept 21st, this problem is
still evident on a fully updated Gutsy. (I saw numerous gtk2 updates
come through and I've restarted the computer)

I mean this problem depends on the theme that is used, so I think it is
related to ubuntulooks.
As Juan Pablo Salazar Bertín wrote (two posts above) there are only two
themes that have that problem.
As you can see in the "clearlooks.ogg", that is in the Bug attachments,
there are no visual proble

I see your point, but I think supporting non-free software where a free
alternative exists is rather silly, but reasonably typical of Canonical.
Never mind, I'll do it myself, pbuilder is fun.
