I started to close evolution more often (it crashed when it was open for
a long time) and it doesn't crash. I'll check this again after I upgrade
to edgy, so let it be closed...

Getting a backtrace of the crashes would be a good start. You can get one
easily by clicking on the "send upstream" button of the dialog which is opened
when it crashes, the details of the window opened then has the backtrace. Other
way getting a backtrace using gdb:
- gdb evolution
(gdb) run
th
I can't separate these problems into different issues, as I don't really
know if it's one or more causes for the crash.
I have evolution-dbg and evolution-data-server-dbg installed.
I would like to investigate it better, as my backtrace attempts so far
were unsuccessful...

evolution-dbg and evolution-data-server-dbg to get debug backtraces for
it.
