Closing as Won't Fix as per how the bug was closed upstream. This is
both non-trivial to implement for the reasons provided in the upstream
bug report, and there is a clear and easy workaround: using Shift -
Arrow to open and close threads.
Thanks!

I looked at the upstream bug, it seems like they wanted to enable Shift-

I've used is Left and Right.
The shortcuts of "Shift-Left", "Shift-Right", "Shift-+", and "Shift--"
are not discoverable. It took me a substantial amount of

I still have this problem in Ubuntu 10.04, Evolution 2.28.3. The only
way I can collapse/expand threads is "Shift--" and "Shift-+". This is

Whatever the fix was, it did not solve this problem for me. This bug is
still present in evolution-2.22.1-0ubuntu3 that comes with Hardy. The
'left' and 'right' key do not do anything, but SHIFT-left closes and
SHIFT-right opens a thread.

The same in gutsy. Maybe there is a way to change shortcuts for tree
collapsing and expanding to just left and right like it was in older
versions? Because it looks not so userfriendly as it might be...

In Gutsy (Evolution 2.12.1) the arrow keys only work in combination with
SHIFT, which is better than nothing but not ideal. So, 'SHIFT-right'
opens a mail thread, and 'SHIFT-left' closes it. Why not simply use
'right' and 'left'? This seems more logic, and makes it a lot easier to

Thanks. If any extra information helps, the - and + keys don't work to
