In Gutsy (Evolution 2.12.1) the arrow keys only work in combination with SHIFT, which is better than nothing but not ideal. So, 'SHIFT-right' opens a mail thread, and 'SHIFT-left' closes it. Why not simply use 'right' and 'left'? This seems more logic, and makes it a lot easier to browse through your mail in thread view.
