Far out, I really let this one slip. Apologies, didn't notice what
happened.
As for what happened, yea... is it open? Which splash are we going for?
The current one, the one proposed by the art team or something
different?

reopening, the splash mentionned by one of the comment was an ubuntu
custom one which is different of the upstream image

Actually, that was because the old green splash was only for 2.2.10, and
the new GIMP is 2.2.11, which uses the old breezy one.

I must say that I am really impressed with the new old splash in Dapper. I
downloaded Dapper beta yesterday to stay up-to-date on the out of the box
functionality and after today's GIMP update I was both shocked and hugely
relieved to find the changed splash, it looks really really great and ble

Frank, that was just my opinion, but I'm not really an artwork guy. You might
want to mail the ubuntu-art lists about such topic, you will get comments from
people who are better and used to work on those questions and may agree
without, in which case you can let the distro team now with a bug :

be decisive men so I won't argue with the outcome.
I thought my proposal seemed fair in light of Ubuntu as a whole, thinking
outside of the single packages and looking at offering a consistent visual
style among all

Thanks for your bug. I'm personnaly fine with the new one and I don't want to
create some conflict with upstream by taking opposite decisions on what they
do. Daniel, what do you think about it?
