I'm not sure that the synaptic issue is the same bug, it could be a
synaptic bug. Could you try with xmms and confirm than your original
issue is fixed?

Until yesterday, a long update with synaptic resulted in this:
* the update dialog opens;
* two buttons in the taskbar are shown at once: one for the dialog and one for
the main window;
* they both start flashing;
* the button corresponding to the main window is impossi
That seems to work fine for me now that the wnck bug is fixed. Do you still
have that issue?
