Same problem here but for my wifi interface,

Have the same/similar behaviour on my 8.04 beta4 machine.
I receive "The interface does not exist" if I press the configure button in
gnome-nettool.
But gnome-nettool does show the counter for this interface (eth0). This
computer has only lo and eth0, no wireless.

Thanks for your quick response! No, it does not open the network-admin
dialog. I *can* launch network-admin from the menu
(System/Admininstration/Network) or from a terminal session. But if I
try to launch it via the Configure button in Network Tools, I get the
"Interface does not exist" error.
Thanks for your report, that configuration dialog should open a network-
admin dialog, does it works fine with network-admin? May you try with
it? thanks.
